HOOSAC 103 – PSA 102. DOWN GOES THE CHAMP!

A historical night had been played put yesterday. Our AAA squad took down the back to back National Champion Putnam Science Academy in a thriller buzzer beater game.

Putnam Science Academy (PSA) has won the National Championship last two years. Not only have they brought the trophy home, but they did it in a dominating fashion. They only lost 1 total game in two years. Haven’t lost on their home court for years. Their team is traditionally armed with high level future NCAA division 1 players.

Our boys, though, came ready to play and compete. Led by the elite Canadian sharpshooter, Alex Pachucki (who is in his third year with our program). Pachucki had a game of a lifetime, a performance that is seem from players like Steph Curry. Alex had 48 points, 14 (yes 14!!) made 3 point shots, a school record. Team Captain, our Turkish wing, Kani Topuz took it upon himself to be the energy motor for the team. The game came down to the wire, where the only way to stop the amazing Canadian guard from scoring was to send a double team, he made the right play, passed to the open Swedish Junior who scored the final 3 point shot of the game and took down the giant. HOOSAC 103, PSA 102!

We need to mention notable players, Spanish Point Guard Unai Fernandez who was solid with the ball, made timely shots and delivered with some magic passes, and Greek titan Efstratios Kalliontzis, who controlled the glass with another 15+ rebound performance.

Now it’s time to prepare, next three games will be in front of our own fans.
